Simon Whelan – Senior Data Scientist | Swedbank

Simon Whelan has over 20 years experience working with computational modelling and data, applied to several industries as well as in academic research. At Swedbank he works as a Senior Data Scientist in optimisation and enablement, which aims to take advantage of Swedbank’s transition to the cloud and applies a pragmatic approach to applying data science and machine learning to areas within the bank outside more traditional analytics. Prior to joining Swedbank, Simon worked at Sandvik as a data scientist and has held group leader/PI positions at Uppsala University and The University of Manchester in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
